Amersfoort Zoo

The nearest zoo is located in Amersfoort. In this zoo live 1500 animals which you can see up close. The park is divided under a number of worlds and in each world there are various things to see and experience. You will discover the Tigers in the City of Antiquity, admire elephants and giraffes in The Empire of the Giants and go back in time at the DinoPark. There is also a boat trip and the “Climb Everything” route. Of course, a clear route has also been mapped out so that you don’t miss anything!

Apenheul

The nicest monkey zoo in the Netherlands is De Apenheul in Apeldoorn. 300 monkeys of 35 different varieties live here. More than half of these monkeys run free. So it may be that there is a curious squirrel monkey on your shoulder. You will also be able to experience more restrained monkeys up close due to this unique concept. The monkeys, like orangutans, that do not run free, live on large natural islands. Because these monkeys are not locked up in cages, you will have the opportunity to see their natural behavior.

Dolfinarrium

One of the most famous marine mammal park in Europe is Dolfinarium (the Dolphinarium.) The park is located in Harderwijk. Various marine mammals such as dolphins, walruses and rays live in the park. Several shows are given every day. There is an educational dolphin show, a funny walrus show and a splashing adventure with the sea lions. Also view these special sea animals underwater in ‘‘Onder Odiezee’’ or pat the rays in the ray reef. There are also (water) playgrounds and there is the possibility to take a picture with dolphins or a walrus. Summed up, Dolfinarium is guaranteed a day of splashing fun for the whole family!
